Automatically restore app settings
You can choose to restore settings and other data when you reinstall an app. This feature requires that you are backing up your data with your Google Account and that the app is using the backup service. For certain apps, not all data may be backed up and restored.
To restore app settings on your device, follow these steps:
- Open your device's Settings menu.
- Under "Personal," touch Backup & restore.
- Check the box next to "Automatic restore."
- Erase your device's data
If you want to erase all your personal data from your device, follow these steps:
- Open your device's Settings menu.
- Under "Personal," touch Backup & reset.
- Touch Reset phone or Reset tablet.
After resetting your device, you'll need to re-enter the same information requested when you first set it up. If you've been backing up your data to a Google Account, an option during the setup process allows you to restore it.
