Manage battery life

Check remaining battery life

You can check how much battery life your device has left by doing one of the following options:
Use Quick Settings
On a Nexus or Google Play edition phone, swipe down from the top of the screen, then touch the  Quick Settings icon. (On a Nexus or Google Play edition tablet, swipe down from the upper right corner of the screen.)
The percentage of battery life left is displayed in one of the tiles.

View Battery Graph 

  1. Open your device’s  Settings menu. If your device is running Android 4.3 or lower, the  Settings icon is different.
  2. Under “Device,” touch Battery.
The percent of battery life is displayed at the top of the screen.

Manage battery usage by app

To see how much battery life your apps are using, go to   Settings > Device > Battery. If your device is running Android 4.3 or lower, the  Settings icon is different.

Force Stop an App Running

If you want to stop an app that's running on your device, follow these steps:
  1. Touch one of the app status bars under Battery.
  2. Touch the Force stop button near the top of the screen. Note that this isn’t available for all apps and services.
Report a problem with an app

  1. Touch one of the app status bars under Battery.
  2. Touch Report. Follow the instructions to send your feedback to Google.

Turn Off Bluetooth

If you aren't using Bluetooth, you can turn it off under Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth.

Turn down screen brightness 

Turn down screen brightness or turn on auto-brightness under Settings > Display > Screen brightness.

Set a shorter Sleep Time

Set your device to sleep in 15 or 30 seconds under Settings > Display > Sleep.
